I am Rumit Walia, a Creative Environmentalist and Peacebuilder who embarked on my planet-saving (tbh humans-saving) journey at the age of 12. Growing up with a farming background, I developed a deep connection with nature, and my studies in science further fueled my fascination with the world around me, including the stars in the night sky. With over a decade of experience in managing programs and nonprofit organizations, I specialize in youth affairs and have moderated numerous national and international conferences, events and panels, and podcasts. I was the youngest participant in the 2024 group of Environmental Engagement and Economy for the Indo-Pacific of the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). I am involved with the World Youth Festival Directorate, Russia, advocating for Dialogue, Peace and Culture. I currently manage Youth Affairs at Earth Day Network and serve as Advisor to several Youth Organizations. Additionally, I channel my passion for the environment and peace into creating music with my band, Virah.
In essence, I am just an earthling working to foster a culture of belongingness. Learn more about me here.
