I am Rumit Walia, a creative environmentalist and peacebuilder who began my planet-saving (or honestly, human-saving) journey at the age of 12. Growing up in a farming family, I developed an early connection with the land and a deep curiosity about the natural world. My education in science and engineering further shaped that curiosity, expanding it from the soil beneath my feet to the stars in the night sky. With around 15 years of experience, I have worked across youth leadership, sustainability, dialogue, and international cooperation — building initiatives, moderating global conversations, and collaborating with communities and institutions worldwide. Much of my work focuses on bringing people together across cultures and perspectives to foster dialogue, peacebuilding, and shared responsibility for our planet. Alongside environmental and policy work, I also explore creativity as a tool for change — whether through conversations, community initiatives, or music with my band, Virah.
